Minerva Foods, which brings food to more than 100 countries, understands sustainability as its very way of doing business—producing with social and environmental responsibility and integrating practices that ensure efficiency, transparency and respect throughout the entire value chain thereby strengthening our ability to deliver the best for the future.
Three pillars, one commitment:
Sustainability in Practice
- Monitor 100% of direct suppliers in South America and deploy the “Programa Renove” at partner farms.
- Since 2020, via its subsidiary Minerva Energy, maintain net zero Scope 2 emissions..
- By 2030: achieve zero illegal deforestation in all countries of operation (including direct and indirect suppliers); ensure that at least 50% of the animals come from partner farms of Programa Renove; and reduce GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions intensity in Scopes 1 and 2 by 30%.
- More than USD 1 million invested in social programs, promoting inclusion, local development and social transformation.
- 100% of our industrial units certified in food safety.
- 100% of our slaughtering & butchering units certified in animal welfare, achieving a conformity rating of 99.9%.
- Certifications for different markets and access to over 100 countries worldwide.
Ecosystem that creates value:
From the field to the consumer’s table, we are constantly committed to creating connections between people, food and nature.
Full control, from the field to the customer:
We monitor more than 69,000 farms with state-of-the-art technology and a zero-tolerance policy for illegal deforestation.
Geospatial and socio-environmental monitoring:
Of 100% of direct suppliers, data is cross-checked with official records (CAR, embargoed areas, slave-labour list).
Individual traceability of cattle:
We follow a protocol defining the requirements for eligible producers to participate in the individual traceability system. Animals are tracked via SISBOV and electronic ear tags, ensuring a level of control that goes beyond legal demands.
Global supplier monitoring platform:
The base is integrated with national and international data sources via API, expanding the SMGeo information base and strengthening socio-environmental monitoring of the supply chain.
Through our subsidiary MyCarbon, we source and trade carbon credits, transforming production chains to address climate change.
Launched in 2021, it was created to drive sustainable, profitable, and low-carbon agriculture. It ensures carbon footprint compensation and real benefits for those who produce responsibly and think about the future of farming. Participating farms must have had zero deforestation for the past 10 years and undergo a rigorous technical assessment process, which includes soil analyses and the accounting of emissions at all stages of the production chain.
At the consumer’s table
Investments in certifications and processes ensure the highest standards of quality, food safety and animal welfare.
