Dedication to the planet

  • Texto Institucional

Minerva Foods’ environmental management is guided by initiatives involving the cattle supply chain and the continuous improvement of performance in our own operations. Through the Dedication to the Planet pillar of our sustainability strategy, we foster sustainable livestock farming, driven by technical criteria, rigorous monitoring, and responsible practices that balance food production with environmental conservation.

Supply Chain Management

Minerva Foods’ supply chain management includes processes for traceability and socio-environmental monitoring of rural properties, which are essential for achieving the goals outlined in our Sustainability Commitment and for meeting the requirements of the most demanding global markets.

Our Policy for Sourcing of Agricultural Commodities and Animal Products establishes strict socio-environmental criteria that suppliers must meet and that the Company must monitor. These criteria ensure compliance with environmental, labor, and land regulations throughout the supply chain (see more details in the table below).

Our Criteria

  • Our approach

In a structured and integrated manner, we operate through three complementary fronts:Direct Suppliers, continuous geospatial monitoring to ensure compliance with the criteria established in our policy; Indirect Suppliers, development of technologies and protocols to access other links in the supply chain, aiming to increase transparency and control over the origin of the animals and; Supplier Requalification and Reintegratin: Bering technical support and guidance so that cattle farmers can meet the established socio-environmental criteria and return to the supply chain.

  • Direct Suppliers
The Company was a pioneer in implementing 100% geospatial monitoring of direct supplier farms across all Brazilian biomes in which it operates. Internationally, it achieved 100% traceability in its operations in Paraguay (2021), Colombia (2023), Argentina, and Uruguay (2024), surpassing the targets set in its Sustainability Commitment by up to six years. The geospatial monitoring system is audited annually, with results that position Minerva Foods as a benchmark in the sector.
    Indirect Suppliers
Monitoring indirect suppliers is one of the sector’s greatest challenges, requiring investments in research, technology, effective public policies, and the engagement of the entire value chain to ensure full traceability of cattle. Minerva Foods has a series of initiatives under development in this regard:

    Technologies

    SMGeo Prospec app and Visipec.

    Protocols

Individual Traceability Protocol, Full Cycle Protocol, and Level 1 Indirect Suppliers Protocol.
    Reconecta: Supplier Requalification and Reintegration

The Reconecta program supports suppliers with socio-environmental issues in regularizing their rural properties. Through technical guidance, we promote best practices and reinforce the Company’s commitment to an ethical and sustainable supply chain.

As part of our strategic approach, engagement, partnerships, and the mobilization of key industry stakeholders are essential for building an effective traceability and monitoring solution. In this context, Minerva Foods’ active participation in dialogue platforms and sectoral forums reinforces our commitment to developing collaborative and effective solutions.
