What is the importance of Full Traceable
products for the supply chain?

A Full Traceable product – meaning it can be traced from the birth of the animal to the final product delivery to the consumer – is advantageous for all links in the supply chain.

It is advantageous for the producer, as it makes their farm more competitive in an increasingly demanding market regarding the origin of the products they consume. With a more competitive and demonstrably sustainable product, the range of options increases, as does the value of their raw materials.

It is also advantageous for the companies that market products made from these raw materials, as they can ensure a sustainable delivery, thus enhancing their reputation and trust in the market. Moreover, it is advantageous for the customer, who sees their demands for a product with a lower environmental impact met.

Key Questions About
Supply Chain Traceability

International markets are becoming increasingly demanding regarding the control of the supply chain for products of Brazilian origin. For both meat consumers and brands that use our leather, full traceability of the supply chain is becoming more important and less negotiable. This drives us to seek alternatives, such as this project, to continue meeting our customers’ requirements.

How to Participate?

Animals eligible to participate in the program must be identified with SISBOV (Brazilian Bovine and Bubaline Identification System).

Why do animals need to be tagged with SISBOV?

Because this system records every movement the animal has had throughout its entire life, allowing us to have full traceability of the supply chain from the animal’s birth.

What are the criteria considered for traceability?

In addition to knowing the origin of the animals, we need to confirm that this origin complies with socio-environmental criteria assessed by Minerva Foods, which are part of its public commitments.

How is the monitoring done?

It is done using a geomonitoring tool, SMGeo, by consulting public data provided by the government. For this, the availability of the CAR (Rural Environmental Registry) of the farms involved in the supply chain is necessary.

To further support this journey, Minerva Foods will provide a bonus for partners participating in this program.
