This is the perfect recipe for a Sunday lunch with the family. Bringing back Italian cuisine, the pot roast features Chuck meat as the main ingredient. This meat is known for its extreme tenderness, making it one of the best choices for braising.
Good accompaniments for this cut are white rice, potatoes, and cassava, as they do not overshadow the flavor of Chuck. We also suggest adding seasonings like garlic, salt, and pepper to preserve the natural taste of the meat.
Check out the step-by-step instructions to prepare the dish!
INGREDIENTS:
Chuck pot roast:
- 1 piece of Chuck
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper freshly ground to taste
- 2 tablespoons of Alma Lusa olive oil
- Oil for grilling
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 4 cans of peeled tomatoes
- ½ bunch of basil
PREPARATION:
Cut the Chuck into medium cubes and place them in a medium bowl.
Season with salt, black pepper freshly ground to taste, and olive oil. Mix well and let it rest for 30 minutes.
In a large pot, add the oil and heat over medium heat.
Add the Chuck cubes and grill until golden brown on all sides. Reserve the meats.
In the same pot, add the onion and garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes. Add the peeled tomatoes, season with salt, black pepper, and mix well.
Return the grilled meats to the pot, reduce the heat, and add half of the basil. Let it cook for 1 hour or until the meat is cooked through.
Finish with the remaining basil and serve immediately with white rice!
