Minerva Foods conducts climate-related risk and opportunity assessments considering the potential impacts on its operations and value chain, particularly those associated with the agricultural sector. Among the main impacts assessed are reduced productivity at cattle supplier farms, increased livestock mortality, and higher costs for veterinary medicines and animal healthcare to maintain herd health, which could increase the Company’s operating costs.
The assessments use climate and socioeconomic scenarios developed by the IPCC (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5 and SSP3-7.0) and the NGFS (Net Zero 2050, NDCs and Fragmented World), with short-, medium-, and long-term analyses to identify climate-related risks and opportunities, supporting the Company’s management and strategic decision-making.
